Fuse Valley Technology Valley by the BIG Bureau project Architecture 09.04.2022 Architectural firm BIG and developer Castro Group presented the project of a large-scale Fuse Valley complex, which will house the headquarters of Farfetch and the offices of technology companies. Ekaterina Karpukhina BIG architects have designed a new “technology village” in the Port, half of which will be occupied by the headquarters of Farfetch. The rest of the space will be shared by offices of different startups. On an area of 178,000 m2, the bureau will build 24 buildings arranged in a checkerboard pattern and oriented around parks, courtyards, gardens and public squares. The buildings with angular design imitate the surrounding mountain landscape. Thanks to the sloping facades, the structures will create more space for pedestrians and form canopies from the sun and rain. BIG architects also equip many outdoor paths, as immersion in nature increases productivity and promotes emotional well-being. Farfetch’s headquarters will occupy half of Fuse Valley’s territory. Classrooms, canteens and wellness centers will be located next to it. “Instead of a corporate office complex, the Farfetch house will be a lively urban ensemble that unites all curators, creators, customers and employees in a new innovative area of the city,” said BIG founder Bjarke Ingels. Open-plan spaces will provide employees with flexible work areas with outdoor terraces. According to the architects, the valley will be able to grow and expand in the same way as an ordinary village. Fuse Valley is planned to be built by 2023 and officially open in 2025. Original content from the site
