House with swimming pool in Portugal Architecture 05.06.2022 A minimalist house with strict shapes and tactile surfaces. Ksenia Oshchepkova EmailPinterestVKonkakte EmailPinterestVKonkakte Architects from the studio Bak Gordon Arquitectos designed a laconic house with a symmetrical facade that frames an elongated pool. The authors used the language of simple geometric shapes to contrast the building with the natural landscape, and for harmony they decorated the external and internal walls with terracotta lime mortar. The monumental building with square windows and openings has two side “towers” that overlook the pool. The slightly concave facade repeats its shape, and the textured color is complemented by finishing with white marble slabs. Each of the towers plays the role of a spacious terrace shaded by a reed canopy. Between them, in the center of the building, there is a kitchen-dining room and a living room with a minimalist corner fireplace. A semicircular partition separates this part of the house from the courtyard, which provides an influx of indirect natural light into the corridors and rooms located at the back of the building. The purity of lines and simplicity of forms, the lively textural surface of the walls, the skillfully constructed play of light and shadow make the house a suitable place for contemplative leisure and relaxation. The architects have selected soft, but expressive furnishings that create an almost monochrome interior. In the living room they arranged vintage wooden armchairs with leather upholstery, terracotta vases and abstract canvases. In the dining room, a monolithic built-in table was supplemented with white chairs with chips and scuffs and an elegant lamp was hung, the shape of which emphasizes the poetic simplicity of the space. An ascetic bedroom with a headless bed and a pair of wicker armchairs is located in the back of the house. Photo: Francisco Nogueira Original content from the site
