Terraced house in Ecuador Architecture 16.02.2022 The customers of El Sindicato Arquitectura wanted to build a house on the slope to admire the panorama of Ilalo volcano. The task of the architects of El Sindicato Arquitectura was to design a house that, on the one hand, will maximize the views of nature, and on the other hand, will provide privacy to a family with two daughters. The plot is located in the Kumbaya district in the capital of Ecuador. It is located on a small hill, so the Ilalo volcano is clearly visible from most of the windows. At the same time, the neighboring houses are very close, so the architects decided to divide the one-story building into three parts, and between them to lay out gardens hidden from prying eyes. The bureau connected the three resulting zones with a glazed corridor. In the first part there is a bedroom of the owners and a kitchen, in the central part there is a living room where the whole family gathers together, and in the third there are two bedrooms of the daughters, one of which has its own dressing room, and the other has a private exit to the terrace. All the “buildings” have different layouts, as the architects were based on the lifestyle and habits of each of the residents of the house. Even the children’s rooms are very different from each other. According to the bureau, this project has more external space than internal. The roofs are terraces, and you can move from one part of the house to another on them. In addition, the internal secluded courtyards form another space for family leisure.
