New metro stations in Dnipro designed by Zaha Hadid Architects Architecture 14.02.2022 Architects Zaha Hadid Architects showed what the new stations of the Dnipro metro will be like. The construction of new stations — “Theater”, “Museum” and “Central” – was started back in 2016. They will connect the western part of the city with the center and the railway station. This will reduce traffic jams and allow residents of the city to quickly get to parks, beaches and recreation areas on the banks of the Dnieper River. The design of the stations was handled by the bureau Zaha Hadid Architects. The architects drew inspiration from the rich history of the Dnieper, which is considered the center of metallurgy and mechanical engineering. Therefore, the ground lobby is made of thin panels made of recycled steel obtained from local foundries. Sculptural forms create a bright and easily recognizable landmark in the urban space. The design of ticket halls is unique for each station, and the internal lobbies, corridors and platforms have a single design and navigation, which give the Dnipro metro an individuality.
