Chinese Culture Hall in Chengdu Architecture 11.02.2022 Aoe Studio has built a Hall of Chinese Culture among bamboo forests. But you can only get to it through a corridor surrounded by bamboo forests and ponds. Therefore, the architects began their work by searching for the intersections of Chinese and Western cultures. Inspiration was found in the ceremonial ruyi scepter, which has been used in China since ancient times as a gift to foreign envoys. It served as a symbol of friendly relations and peace between the two countries. The landscape becomes a continuation of architecture: there is a Chinese-style garden in the courtyard, where you can listen to music, the sound of the wind and the rustle of bamboo. After passing through the forest, you can also get to the pavilion, which is reflected in a quiet pond with water lilies. The architects used rounded, drop-shaped geometric elements, and also designed a continuous arched wall that surrounds the building and creates a beautiful play of light and shadow. All this creates an emotional connection with the landscape and demonstrates the charm of Oriental culture. Photo: Arch-Exist Photography Photo: Arch-Exist Photography
