It will be the gateway to the new business district of Baiyun. Liang Xue Infinitus Plaza is the new headquarters of Infinitus China. It is located in the business district, which appeared on the site of the decommissioned Baiyun Airport. The block connected the Guangzhou city center with Feixiang Park and new residential settlements. The metro line runs directly under the headquarters, so it is divided into two separate buildings connected by bridges at some levels. The structures are made in the same style — in the form of a series of rings, which, according to the architects, will improve the interaction between different departments. Liang Xue Rounded atriums and courtyards form the infinity sign, which is a reference to the name of the company. Thanks to this layout, the headquarters has many internal and external spaces that create a sense of community and are a reflection of the Infinitus culture. On the bridges connecting the buildings, there are various recreation and sports areas: a gym, relaxation spaces, as well as restaurants and cafes. Infinitus Plaza was designed and built in accordance with the LEED Gold certificate. 25 thousand tons of recycled materials were used for its construction: steel, copper, glass, aluminum alloy profiles, gypsum products and wood. In addition, the bureau Zaha Hadid Architects conducted a study of solar radiation and designed the ideal width of open terraces that will contribute to the self-shading of the building. In other places, the architects have installed perforated aluminum panels that will catch some of the sun’s rays. The project’s rainwater collection, filtration and reuse system also provides irrigation to the surrounding landscape park. In addition, part of the roof of the buildings is covered with herbs and plants popular in the region.
