Triangular house in Savyon Architecture 11.02.2022 The architects of the studio Paritzki & Liani Architects built an unusual house near Tel Aviv, the shape of which repeats the geometry of the site. Studio Paritzki & Liani Architects needed to build a house for a family with three teenagers, fitting a 600 m2 building on a small trapezoidal plot. It was located between two other country houses and narrowed at one end due to the bend of the street. The architects decided to distribute an impressive area over three floors, and design the building itself in the shape of a triangle in order to “play with perspective” and hide the scale of the house — the complex geometry really makes it difficult to perceive its real size. The architects made the facade as laconic as possible — smooth slabs of white stone are interrupted only in some places by sliding partitions and windows with the thinnest frames. The studio verified the glazing places with geometric precision in order to hide personal life from the prying eyes of neighbors — that is why the windows overlook either the open area or are located below the fence level. In addition, IS House is integrated into the landscape — its lower level is partially submerged underground. This ground floor opens onto a small triangular-shaped courtyard. Here the architects planted trees that will eventually cover the facade more and more, and some will even grow through special holes in the roof. Each level of the house is responsible for different functions. On the underground floor there is a home theater and a gym, as well as a library and an office. Above there is a single open space with a double-height living room and a contrasting black kitchen. The master bedroom with a bathroom and a dressing room is also hidden here. The upper floor is occupied by teenage children — all their bedrooms are also equipped with private bathrooms.
