This house is a hill, almost invisible from the outside and open to nature from the inside, a shell house, at the same time protected and transparent, according to its creators HW Studios, inspired by children’s games – when, hiding under an air sheet, the child feels in a safe shelter.

The house really seems to be neatly covered from above, only instead of a sheet there is a concrete vault, densely overgrown with grass, which creates a space “so safe and intimate that it is able to drive away any spirit, ghost or demon that may be outside”» 

The house is located on a small but very picturesque plot with a view of the ancient trees of the hollow. He himself is inscribed inside the hill, and a narrow romantic and slightly mystical-looking path leads to him, which stretches between two high concrete walls and skirts mature trees, like a path in some wild gorge. “This path is wide enough to walk it alone, but narrow enough to walk it in company. It’s a lonely pilgrimage”» the architects describe the project. 

Behind the tree, the path descends down the steps, and behind a heavy steel door, a space opens under a concrete vault, creating the feeling of being in a cold, dark, but strangely cozy cave.

Concrete was chosen as the main material because of its proximity to natural materials: over time, it will fade, merge with the surroundings and the house will finally become part of its natural environment. On the left side of the house there are public areas completely open to the picturesque valley, and on the right — private areas, delicately opening into the courtyard, which allows you to see the sky and treetops, but closes private spaces from prying eyes.

Four main materials are used here: stone, wood, concrete and steel. And everything that refers to a specific time (household appliances, lighting) is neatly hidden, hidden, which made it possible to create a rough, as if primitive atmosphere of the house «out of time».
