The author of the Instagram blog Hidden Moscow Eric Shakhnazaryan has created a petition to stop the destruction of valuable authentic elements in the interior and on the facades of houses in the process of overhaul.

In November, we wrote that the TASS building is planned to be sheathed with a vent facade and thereby destroy the appearance of the monument of modernism. But there are hundreds of such buildings all over Russia — as a result of the overhaul, the pre-revolutionary floor tiles of the factories Villeroy & Boch, Marywil, Dzevulsky and Lyange, Falconier glass blocks, windows, doors, hand-made railings made of precious wood, made according to individual projects of architects specifically for each specific house are destroyed.

The program of capital repairs of apartment buildings in Moscow and the owners often do not take into account the values of these elements, so they are thrown out as construction debris, replacing them with new ones made of modern cheap materials.

The author of the Hidden Moscow instagram blog Eric Shahnazaryan has created a petition demanding to stop vandal treatment of architecture and consider amendments concerning the restrictions on the overhaul of capital construction projects built before 1955 inclusive, regardless of their status.
