Malevich Park on Nikolina Gora Architecture 05.06.2022 In the Moscow region, the architects of the Basis bureau designed the park, inspired by the history of the place and the work of the avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich. Teresa Poghosyan EmailPinterestVKonkakte EmailPinterestVKonkakte Coming up with the concept of the park, the architects decided to study the history of the place where the park was to appear. It turned out that once upon a time the great Russian artist Kazimir Malevich often stayed in the nearby village of Nemchinovka and was inspired by local landscapes. Even the legend of the ”Malevich oak” is known: it is rumored that near this tree the artist liked to relax after walks and paint pictures. All this has defined the image of a new space, referring to the tradition of Russian suprematism. To recreate the connection between nature and art, the architects of the Basis bureau used basic geometric shapes — square, circle, triangle — and reflective mirror surfaces (for example, stainless steel) in combination with black. Thus, the restrained architecture of the park favorably emphasizes the beauty of the natural landscape. Local residents lead an active lifestyle, so they decided to keep the sports grounds in the park, making them more comfortable and modern. Moreover, in the future it is planned to build a sports cluster with football fields, tennis and badminton courts, pavilions and stands. In addition, there are cafes and art spaces in Malevich Park, made in the spirit of suprematism. But in general, the architects tried to preserve as many green areas on the territory as possible.
