The Koto team, engaged in the design of prefabricated houses, presented the first two-storey modular building.

Falcon House is the first two-storey modular house from Koto, which is located near the lake in the Cotswolds. Its owners planned to use the cottage for recreation, so it was important for the architects to create a peaceful and soothing atmosphere.

The site was located on a small hill, so it was necessary to use this advantage and open the most beautiful views. The team used two modular cabins, which they placed on top of each other and slightly “shifted” to form two triangular terraces on the second floor. These projections also made it possible to shade the bedroom windows on the first level.

“The inverted house was designed to let nature into the house as much as possible,” the architects say. —It creates a sense of life among the trees, and the lower floor is ideal for accommodating more intimate spaces.”

The upper floor is a single open space with large windows. There is a living room with a seating area, which is organized around a wooden stove. Downstairs there are bedrooms located on both sides of the central core with bathrooms, utility room and stairs.

The interiors of the modular house were developed by the design department of the company — Koto Living. To add comfort, experts used wooden headboards, woven carpets in the bedrooms, as well as smaller windows that create a more intimate atmosphere, but at the same time open spot views of nature.
